Director Actor Devisor

I am an actress and emerging playwright and director based in London. I am passionate about theatre and aim to create work that has a positive impact on society.

I have vast experience as a stage actress. Starting at age 15, I joined Teatro Calatalifa, a touring company that specialised in ancient Greek and Roman theatre. I spent ten years in this company, which gave me invaluable stage experience and allowed me to grow as an actor.

In 2009, after finishing my degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, I decided to study Drama in a formal setting. I attended Bululú 2120 Drama School, where I had the opportunity to study with actor, director, and theatre educator Antonio Malonda. He has more than 50 years of experience. His methodology is based on acting techniques determined by the body-mind connection proposed by Stanislavsky.

In 2016, I joined Gauntlet Theatre, and was involved in the production of two new shows, “The Night Blogger” (2016 – a horror anthology commenting on the impact of social media/modern technology on mental health. Followed by the award-winning play, “My Life Closed Twice” (2018/2019, which addressed the discrimination and negative stereotypes associated with mental illness). Working with Gauntlet provided me with the first opportunity to collaboratively devise an original play and be a part of the scriptwriting process, in an addition to gaining further acting experience.

I recently graduated with distinction from the University of East London after completing my Masters in Acting. For my MA dissertation I created “Breaking The Cycle”, an autoethnographic play about transgenerational trauma and domestic abuse, which was my debut as a playwright and director. Based on Stanislavski’s System, I combined elements of stylised realism and physical and collaborative theatre, in an attempt to re-claim realism as a feminist theatre approach.

In 2019, I joined the Performing Arts Department at Thomas Tallis School as an Educational Assistant, where I help students with character work, writing and dance, as well as leading small groups/ one to one drama sessions with GCSE students.
