Rachel Thomas

Actor Writer Producer Theatre Maker Dramaturg

I am an Actor, Producer, Writer, Dramaturg, and access support worker, with other previous experience in costume design and stage management. I am joint Artistic Director and company Producer of Seventh Sense Theatre Company, a new writing company making 'class theatre, without the divide', and have produced all their shows to date including an ACE funded R&D for DOG HAIR by Phillip Jones in May 2021. I was part of the China Plate Optimists Producer training programme 2021, and have received professional mentorship from Joey Dawson (Wildcard/National Theatre), Oran Doyle (Les Enfents Terribles), and Burnt Lemon Theatre.

I'm passionate about new writing, stories that often go silenced, gig theatre, and anything with a rhythm at its heart, and have also previously worked as a mental health campaigner, so i'm always eager to get involved in anything surrounding those themes and to orient my work around wellbeing practices. Over the past few years I have also been increasingly expanding my dramaturgy skills, and attending further workshops on script reading, directing, accessibility and theatre design.

Acting credits include FAR AWAY (Donmar Warehouse), THE ESSEX SERPENT (Apple TV), performing with and for London Film School, 7th Sense Theatre, DASH Arts, Watch This & Vivo D’Arte, and the workshop process for MAYDAYS at the RSC.
