Lorenzo Mason
Director
I'm a British/Italian director originally from Rome. My pronouns are he/him. I have been directing for several years, always in a freelance capacity, without so far forming my own theatre company. This has meant that I haven't had a support network that forming a theatre company might have generated, but on the other hand I've directing a diverse array of plays. My credits include classics, contemporary recent plays, adaptations of books and some new writing.
I'm interested in plays with big themes and high stakes, I'm attracted to stories about upheaval, and where the actions of the characters affect a greater swathe of humanity than their immediate circle. I'm also interested in exploring gender-neutral and gender-queer casting, which I've applied to several of my plays and have created a specific workshop as part of my master's degree.
I have a dream to start a theatre company mixing Shakespeare with so called "nerd" subculture, as I am proudly both a theatre nerd and a regular nerd.
