Caitlin Abbott
Designer
I (she/her) am a designer and maker, I'm currently an Assistant Designer at the RSC and was a Linbury Prize Finalist in 2019. I grew up in London, trained in Bristol, and have worked in the UK, Poland, Bangladesh and the Czech Republic.
I want to tell stories that are meaningful, and make theatre that is accessible, vibrant and inventive, using different media and storytelling methods to reach people. I like to make designs that are playful and come to life in the performance; I am excited by making theatre for unconventional spaces and bringing theatre magic into the everyday. I enjoy research and development work and would love to collaborate and devise new shows, but also feel strongly about re-imagining well-known plays for new audiences.
