Lauren Connolly

I am a Designer for Performance.
I have designed Sets, Costumes and Puppets for theatre including immersive, touring, devised, new writing, and community productions alongside carnival, festival, and a short film.

The projects I've most enjoyed are those made for, about, or with local communities, enabling them to use theatre and live performance to learn and find joy in new experiences.

I'm interested in all kinds of work that challenges me and also allows me to learn through research. I enjoy the collaborative and explorative nature of theatre, whether that is on a stage, in an auditorium, or in an outdoor found space that brings its own sense of character to the performance.

I aim to create exciting, stylised designs in response to briefs, scripts, and verbatim experiences, playing with the cross over between audience and performance, regularly intertwining those boundaries, with the goal of creating a better sense of understanding within audiences, through use of design, to aid in the storytelling process.
