Monika Rękoś

I work as the revival director and assistant director at the opera houses. As a freelancer I work at the projects in Poland and across the Europe. I’ve had the opportunity to assist directors and choreographers, like Ran Arthur Braun, Robert Bondara, Karolina Sofulak or Marek Weiss. Previously I also worked as a coordinator of a ballet theater Cortique and, occasionally, as a stage manager on various shows. In season 2019/20 I started to work with Polish National Opera in Warsaw. I also had my debut as a stage director in the Silesian Opera in Bytom, directing the Opening Gala of the season 2019/20. I’ve been accepted for the apprenticeship as an assistant director by Berlin Opera Academy to work there this summer on two Puccini operas, “Suor Angelica” and “Gianni Schicci”. I want to became an independent stage director in the future.
