Nicole Redfern

Director

I am an emerging director and theatremaker living and making work in the far South West (Plymouth / Devon).

My expertise is in devised ensemble work, which incorporates sound, physicality and puppetry, and often takes non-conventional approaches to text and narrative. I am interested in making work which comes from the gut: live, physical, honest, political, beautiful. My work has been described as "visual poetry" (thanks!).

I also work as a practitioner on cultural and community projects, specialising in facilitation for hard-to-reach and vulnerable groups.

I make both professional and participatory work, and am particularly interested in projects which blur the line between the two.

I like work which makes me think and feel in new or deeper ways.

My preferred pronoun is she/her.
