Set Designer Costume Designer

Born in Northern Ireland, I grew up in Belgium and completed my further education in England. I trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Set and Costume Design, following a BA Hons in Drama and Theatre Studies, and a Foundation in Fine Art. Since graduating I have worked in theatre; opera; installation art; drama schools; and secondary schools.

My starting point is often finding a colour palette that sets the atmospheric tone, and the textures that epitomise the era, location and emotional environment. With my background in Fine Art I often draw on sculpture and art history for inspiration and conversational provocations with collaborators.

My artistic influences include: Martin Parr for his witty and unusual portraits of the British public, Martin Mogyorosy for capturing incredible patterns and human behaviour through aerial photographs, Anselm Kiefer for his highly emotional and textured paintings, and Sam Gilliam for how he embraces and composes colour.
