Jack Clover

I'm a young director and writer from Essex. I've worked a lot in Ukraine promoting Ukrainian New Writing and working with local practitioners in response to issues of national memory, the 2014 Maidan Revolution and War in Donbas. I've written about my experiences in a contribution to the upcoming book from Bloomsbury Academic "New Drama in Russian: Performance, Politics and Protest in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus".

Back in London, I love making messy, stripped-back, faith-in humanity theatre focusing on the triumphs, trivia and trauma of human relationships. Music is a must.

I speak and have directed shows in Russian, Ukrainian and Czech.

As a student, I won Best Script at the Oxford University New Writing Festival 2016 and was runner up of the National Theatre NewViews competition 2013.
