Lucy Wray (she/they) is a director and collaborative theatre-maker.
Lucy has won a VAULT Highly Commended Award, been longlisted for the JMK Young Director Award, shortlisted for the RTST Sir Peter Hall Directing Award and their shows have received nominations for Best Production & Best Actor at the Off West End Awards.
Theatre work as a director includes Celebrate and EGGS at the VAULT Festival; Left My Desk at New Diorama and
HOME Manchester; COW at Theatre Royal Plymouth, Bike Shed Exeter and Wilton's Music Hall; RUN (nomination for Best Production at Off West End Awards) at The
Bunker; They Built It. No One Came. at Pleasance Edinburgh and on UK tour; Goodstock at New Diorama, Greenwich Theatre, CAST Doncaster and Pleasance Edinburgh.
She was Resident Director on A Taste of Honey (National Theatre UK Tour/ West End) and a Resident Director at the Almeida where assistant work includes The Tragedy of King Richard the Second. She was Associate Director for METIS on We Know Not What We May Be at the Barbican, and World Factory at the Young Vic and on UK tour.
Lucy Wray directed the short films duck.sock.shoe and Left My Desk. She is a reader for the National Theatre, Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting and Mammoth Screen.
