Josh Husselbee

Director

Hi there, my name is Josh (he/him) I'm an actor and a writer who has performed at the National Theatre, The Chichester Festival Theatre and in the West End. I has recently graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with a Masters in Classical Acting but but before that I did my undergraduate degree at the University of East Anglia where I studied creative writing with a specialism in script writing and performance. I spent a couple of years working front of house and in theatre management at various theatre but since graduating from the Masters program I am keen to stay on the creative side of theatre. Aside from my professional work, I primarily grew up over seas, living in six different countries by the time I was fifteen, primarily in Africa- this experience has broadened my horizons as an individual and I hope this global awareness translates to a dynamic perspective on theatre.

My biggest influences as a director are Bijan Sheibani, Carrie Cracknell and Rob Ike. I am really interested in plays that examine power dynamics in personal relationships and texts that explore and dissect notions of privilege, gender and race. I also identify as queer so I am keen to engage with other artists in the LGBTQ+ community.
