Manuela Ruggiero

Hi, my name is Manuela, I am Neapolitan, an actress (I have worked in some high profile TV productions for a few years), a Theatre Director (I hold a degree BA in Acting and directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art Paolo Grassi, Milano), a teacher (I was Head of Drama and Physical Theatre at Teatri Possibili in Rome, I have been teaching Drama and Physical Theatre since 1996 and promoting my method which merges Lecoq, Laban, Grotowski, Strasberg and Contact Improvisation with a more classic theatre), a choreographer and movement director and recently I have become a mum of two girls!
I had the privilege to work with Michael Attenborough just before having my first child and his mentoring has influenced a lot of my work (the way to approach Shakespeare in particular).
Now, after 6 years of being a mum where mainly I have been training hard as Capoeira Instructor (Brazilian Martial Art) and yoga practitioner to keep my body fit and my mind fresh and where occasionally I have been collaborating as movement director or coach , I feel ready to get back to work. I am interested in position as movement director, workshops leader, assistant director and of course new challenges as Theatre Director.
