Director Writer Digital Media Producer

Transylvanian/British Writer/Director

I come from an BAME and new British citizen background.

I have directed actors and novices in various settings - including film. I have started as digital media artist and I also freelance as a digital content producer/writer/editor for arts, higher education and healthcare orgs.

The intention of my work as a director is to formulate consistent cultural, dramatic and human dimensions that go beyond the naturalistic theatre framework and pursue transnational appeal, topics and engagement with fragmented audiences.

I am interested in new writing and adaptions of classical plays. Feel free to approach me with both.

I am always happy to work with prospective playwrights and actors, to provide them with feedback and notes regarding their work or to submit treatments, rehearse readings or workshop key aspects of a play.

My current focus is on directing full plays and theatre that are not 'one off'.

My ideal topics would focus on less represented groups and individual politics, would challenge the hypocrisy of the existing norms because they serve the few, and would make use of satire humour and physicality to drive those points.

I subscribe to European theatre practices. That is to say as director, my primary concern is to shape, sharpen and harness the power of the group/ensemble and the value of the show as a whole, which may go at times against the supremacy of the text or that of the actor and take inspiration from devising and improv.
