Alistair is a highly-experienced, award-winning, queer, working class and disabled artist, originally from Manchester, now living in East London. They trained at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, as well as on The Royal Court’s Invitation Writers Group, and also completed an MA at RADA/Birkbeck. In the past they have made work for organisations such as The BBC, Sky Arts, The National Theatre, The Old Vic, Barbican Centre, Shoreditch Town Hall, Arcola Theatre, and Curious Monkey, amongst many others. A lot of Alistair’s work focuses on themes of grief, sickness, intimacy and belonging. They are currently under commission to develop lots of new content for theatre, TV and film. Alistair is the former Head of Artist Development at The Old Vic, and are currently an Associate Artist at The National Youth Theatre, a Connect Artist at RTYDS, a Trustee for Boundless, and a Script Reader for Bush Theatre, Theatre503, Theatre Uncut, and The Papatango Prize. Alongside this, Alistair regularly facilitates workshops with organisations such as National Theatre, Young Vic Theatre, ArtsEd and Directors Cut. Alistair is the Founder and Creative Director of WoLab, and to date, they have raised over £1.75m in funding for various artistic projects.
