(He/Him) .
Raised in Vienna by Turkish-Canadian parents, I am a writer/director for screen & stage now based in South London. I am especially interested in stories that explore diasporic identity, Middle Eastern politics, and the Climate Crisis - or the intersection of the three.
My most recent play, For a Palestinian, enjoyed a sell-out 3-week run at the Camden People’s Theatre, before transferring to, and selling out, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre.
My previous work has won the Methuen Drama ‘Other’ Prize and the BOLD Playwrights Prize, as well as being shortlisted for the Theatre503 International Playwriting Prize. I've been a member of Old Vic Playwriting, Royal Court Young Agitators, and the London Library Emerging Writers Programme.
My short films have been screened at festivals across the world. I also translate between English, German, and Turkish.
I am represented as a writer/director by Christian Ogunbanjo & Talia Tobias at United Agents.
