Justin Murray

Director

Justin is a director and theatre maker whose work explores the past, and how we relate to it.

He was Associate Director of Actors of Dionysus and recently directed their two-week R&D process for a new production of Antigone, which was funded by Arts Council England.

Other recent work includes directing an excerpt of People Places and Things by Duncan Macmillan, translated into Lithuanian, as part of the Juozas Miltinis European Directors’ Residency in Panevezys, Lithuania, as well as Bismillah! An ISIS Tragicomedy at the Edinburgh Fringe ('a bold and thought provoking piece' Guardian).

Justin has directed Catharsis’ previous three shows, Hippolytus, Hecuba, and purged, as well as associate directing for Anna Marshall on Rounds, which toured to venues including Oxford Old Fire Station and Bolton Octagon in 2016 and was shortlisted for the Pleasance LET Award.

Assisting includes Helen (Brighton Fringe & national tour), and currently assisting Phil Wilmott for the More London Free Festival’s production of The Odyssey at The Scoop.
