Tiia-Mari Mäkinen is a London-based theatre professional with a wide experience of movement & mask theatre and inclusive theatre & drama education.
Tiia is an Associate Artistic Director of an international theatre company, Hippana Theatre.

During the recent years Tiia has been working as a director, movement director, assistant director, team leader, producer and pedagogue at various places around the world.
She worked at Chickenshed Theatre from 2015-2019 as a member of Artistic Staff.

Training

Tiia graduated from the Helsinki Metropolia University as a Bachelor of Arts, from Antonio Fava’s Scuola Internazionale dell’Attore Comico as a Commedia dell’Arte expert and she completed her studies at École Internationale de Théâtre Lassaâd in Brussels, specializing in Lecoq pedagogy under the guidance of Saïdi Lassaad and Norman Taylor.
She has trained at workshops led by Royal Shakespeare Company, Odin Teatret & Eugenio Barba, Frantic Assembly and Embodied Poetics & Amy Russell.
