Alix Cazalet

Director Facilitator Educator

She/Her: I graduated in 1997 from Mountview and worked as an actor for several years before pursuing an interest in training and directing young actors. I have twenty years experience working with companies and organisations across the SE primarily, including Proteus Theatre, Winchester Theatre Royal and Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke. I have directed for NT Connections and am also an NYT Associate.

Ultimately and unashamedly, my aim is to entertain and in 2018 I set up my own company, Treadboard Theatre with a two strand focus: to create original high calibre, entertaining work for young audiences and new, thought provoking musical theatre work, focussing on untold stories and unheard voices for an older, broader demographic, using popular tropes within a largely comic structure to explore darker, and more challenging ideas.

As an early career director based in Hampshire, I'm keen to meet and connect with others in these regions as well as connecting, sharing and potentially collaborating with writers and artists across the UK, who share my passion for telling new stories and making theatre that's fresh and entertaining but with real heart.
