Esther Tan

Actor Dancer Deviser Assistant Director

Hi! I am Esther, a London based actor, dancer and acting coach. Classically trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. My preferred pronouns are She/her. As an actor, I have worked professionally with Theatre for Life, The Cockpit Theatre, King’s Head Theatre and The English National Ballet. Prior to my love for acting and theatre making, I am also well-versed in both Contemporary and Chinese dance, along with a variety of eastern and western martial arts styles. Over the last 6 years, I have taught, directed, and hosted for all ages. I have been coaching actors since 2021, and have worked as an Assistant Director at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama for the Greek tragedy production of 'The Oresteia'.

I am interested in directing stories that promotes female narratives, especially from the Global Majority and draws on a rich range of cultural and religious influences. I love to create work that challenges social taboos and provokes discussion, to spark social change through the arts.
