Jude Benning

An early career theatre maker interested in telling stories from multiple viewpoints.

A dyslexic practitioner devising theatre with and for neurodivergent people. Focusing on stories of stories of authority and rebellion, addiction and forgiveness, and the contradicting frailty and strength of the human condition.

Jude founded Cold Comfort Productions to create theatre that is accessible to all, regardless of education and background. It blends the ‘highbrow’ with the ‘lowbrow’ and aims to make theatre snobbery of the past obsolete.

Jude's direction style mixes naturalism with verses of physical theatre and music. The company specialises in working with and supporting early career actors -regardless of age- who may not yet have any professional credits or an agent.
