Liam Grogan

Theatre Director Producer Composer

Pronouns: He/him or they/them
I am a Bristol born director, composer, and founding member of Precarious Theatre. Having been involved in both the performance and production of theatre since a young age, my professional directorial debut came with Precarious Theatre. In the following year, I received my PhD in Music Composition for my research in how combinations of music and theatre might communicate political ideas in concert music. As a director, I seek to develop productive collaborative relationships with my cast, constructing the basis for innovation to spark throughout the rehearsal process. Drawing on influences both theatrical and musical, I aim to access the humanity of theatrical work, embracing the complex and the absurd to draw out that which can speak to an audience in compelling and engaging ways.
