Sophia Golan

I am a theatre director, writer, and musician drawn to epic and symbolic theatre. I have been an actor in big theatre institutions since a young age. In the last few years, I have focused mainly on directing and writing.
I am a commissioned writer and director at Gesher Theatre.
I am intrigued by the idea of finding a touching and human way to tell environmental stories on stage, by feministic deconstructing of classics and the intersection of those.

I am deeply influenced by Oliver Frljić, whom I assisted in the Gorki Theatre in Berlin; by Katie Mitchell, who taught me in my Theatre Directing MA; by Gesher Theatre Company, where I played for four years and due to direct my new play.
