Mika Shirahama is a multi-talent performance artist based in London, bringing an intercultural perspective to her creative endeavors.

Originally from Japan, Mika has traversed diverse cultural landscapes, having lived in Shanghai, Osaka, and Hong Kong before finding her artistic home in the UK in 2019. Recently graduating with a first-class degree in BA Theatre and Performance from the University of Leeds, Mika is deeply passionate about fostering co-creation between performers and audiences, as well as among fellow artists. She is now actively seeking new and exciting collaborations within the performance and cultural industries.

Mika utilises an experimental and research-based approach to her work. Her creative process usually involves posing thought-provoking questions, crafting concepts through documentation, exploring materials, and conducting interviews. Her artistic mission is to provide audiences with extraordinary experiences that elevate the allure of their everyday lives. She places significant value on the collaborative journey of producing performance and art, firmly believing that insights derived from collaboration with others and materials can lead to innovative ideas, personal development and community growth.
