Tyrrell (he/him) is a director, dramaturg & writer with a broad experience across style, language and genre. He specialises in small scale high impact new work. He is best known for his long running internationally award winning 'Bin Laden: The One Man Show' which has toured three continents and has been translated into Norwegian for touring there. Other notable works include an adaptation of Karel Čapek's sci-fi classic 'War with The Newts' (national touring 2018) and a festival of digital experimental work during the pandemic 'The Digital Lyceum' for which he premiered new works by Kamal Kaan and Lavinia Murray.
In addition to his work as a director he also works as an associate director and assistant director. He has assisted directors such as Indhu Rubasingham, James Brining, Amy Leach, Lucian Msamati, Max Webster & Mark Rosenblatt.
Tyrrell also has experience as a drama school director and has directed Eugène Ionesco's 'The Rhinoceros', Bertolt Brecht's 'St. Joan of the Stockyards' (both at Leeds Conservatoire) and two devised pieces at the School of Performance and Cultural Industries, University of Leeds.
