Born in 1984, Denis Boyer is a stage director, actor and drama teacher.
In 2010, he graduated from L’Académie de l’Union, Limousin National Drama's School (France) where he studied with nationally and internationally renowned directors, actors, choreographers such as Jacques Lassalle, Mladen Materic, Paul Golub or Svetlana Zvereva.
At the same time he became a company member of the New Montreuil Theatre - National theater center and started working on different plays directed by Gilberte Tsaï.
Since then, he has been acting in several productions in France and in Europe including " Memorandum for Anna Politkovskaïa " directed by Anton Kouznetsov, " Les Décembristes " directed by Vera Ermakova or " The End of the Red Man " directed by Stephanie Loïk.
In 2016, he made his directorial debut with the DramaBarbe Company, a theater company based in London, with the production of Strawberries in January by Evelyne de la Chenelière, held at the Cockpit Theater for the Voilà!Europe Festival. It was Denis' desire to promote contemporary French-speaking writers in the UK that inspired him to work on this play.
Interested in the process of identity construction, he enrolled in 2019 as an auditor in the Master of Gender Studies at Paris 8.
He often works as an artistic collaborator and assistant with stage directors such as Nicolas Bigards, Françoise Dô or Vera Ermakova, who appreciate his passion for theatre and knowledge of its multidisciplinary nature, as well as his high standards when it comes to directing actors.
In 2021, he decides to launch The Pay It No Mind Company, named as such as a tribute to Marsha P. Johnson, a transgender women, veteran of the Stonewall riots and proud defender of the LGBTQIA+ community's rights.
In 2022, he was one of the six Theatre 13 Award – Young directors' finalists.
Denis has a real desire to be involved in european and international projects/productions and to support a diverse range of visions.
In 2023, he was part of the Union des théâtres de l'Europe's production Decalogue of Anxiety directed by Margarita mladenova et Ivan Dobchev that took place at the National Theatre in Luxembourg, The National Theatre in Porto and the Sfumato Theatre in Bulgaria.
In 2023, his application for a 5 years Global Talent Visa UK ( as a Potential Leader ) has been successful.
