Anna (she/her) is a theatre and opera director and writer. Since 2009 she has been Artistic Director of Tangle (www.tangletheatre.co.uk) a touring theatre company championing African and Caribbean artistic excellence. Previously she worked at the Marlowe, Canterbury, Oxford Playhouse, New Vic, Stoke on Trent, Hall for Cornwall Truro, Abbey Theatre Dublin, in London's West End for Bill Kenwright, Thelma Holt and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group, and at ENO with Jonathan Miller.

Directing credits include THE JEW OF MALTA (Hall for Cornwall), BACKSLIDER (Ustinov, Bath, with Richard Madden), EVERYMAN (Taunton Brewhouse), THE CROSSING (Tangle and Nottingham Playhouse), WORKSHOP NEGATIVE (Tangle and Gate Notting Hill), DOCTOR FAUSTUS, VOLPONE and RICHARD THE SECOND (Tangle and MAST Mayflower Studios). Writing credits include adaptations of the classic plays above; WATER BREAD AND SALT (2014, 2018) and NO ONE IS AN ISLAND (2016) for Tangle's chamber ensemble, Tangle Company.
