Amaia Mugica

Amaia Mugica is a movement director, director and theatre artist/researcher specialising in physical theatre and movement for actors and performers. Her work is at the intersection between physical theatre practices and somatic movement. Her research interests have inclusivity, accessibility, identity, intersectional feminism and ethnography as the basis. Some of her work includes movement direction, directing and teaching at Arcola Theatre, Hackney Shed, WAC Arts, Icarus, Identity, ALRA and RCSSD and London College of Music. She often works in cross-collaborative international projects alongside other artists from diverse artistic disciplines. Amaia has directed, taught and performed internationally in countries such as Spain, the UK, Australia, Germany, the USA and Mexico among others.
