Carla Rudgyard

Playwright Writer Actor Director Facilitator

My pronouns are she/her. I am queer playwright who is predominantly interested in writing scripts that explore LGBTQIA+ identities and politics through female or non-binary characters. I enjoy utilising verbatim and interview material, alongside music and dance to create plays that have a real sense of joy.

Most recently I have been part of Theatre 503's Rapid Write Response, the National Theatre's Young Producers course, the NT’s Writing for Theatre course, a Listen Local Young Writer for the Kiln Theatre, and Young Creative for the Almeida.

I am also a reviewer for The Arts Dispatch. To read my most recent review, follow this link: https://www.theartsdispatch.com/encounters-four-contemporary-ballets-review-royal-opera-house-london/
