Anthony Houghton

Having originally trained as a Theatrical Designer at Wimbledon School of Art, I then went on to train and work as an Actor for over thirty years. In the last few years I have moved into directing - some of the most fulfilling and rewarding work of my entire career, allowing me to combine all my past experiences and skills.

I have been Assistant, Resident and Associate to a number of leading Directors, on a wide range of work, and am now directing in my own rite too.

My most recent work includes: 'The Rubenstein Kiss' at Southwark Playhouse, 'DNA' by Dennis Kelly, for the BA Acting Course final year show at Northampton University; new writing showcases at The King's Head and Southwark Playhouse; co-devising and directing a one woman show, 'Dancing With Jack', for The Edinburgh Festival and directing a new one man play, 'Inside Alan', at The Stockwell Playhouse and The Space. At the opposite end of the spectrum, I also directed and co-wrote 'Cinderella' at The Bristol Hippodrome for ATG, for which I was nominated for two Best Director awards, and 'Cinderella' at The Sunderland Empire.

I am currently devising a multi media verbatim piece about the LGBT community.

I love to collaborate and would jump at the chance to do more Assistant, Associate and Resident work, continuing to learn on the amazing new journey I have started.
