Dana Hudson is a British director, choreographer/movement director, writer and Co-Founder/Resident Director of Ethereal Theatre company. She is part of the Director's Cut where Dana directs and facilitates workshops in association with Southwark Playhouse. She has achieved positive reviews for her work and is a current recipient of the Arts Council's DYCP fund.
Dana has directed original work, Musical Theatre, Shakespeare, Pantomime and Immersive Theatre to date. Last Christmas she worked as Director and Choreographer on 'The Musical That Goes Right', which debuted at The Cockpit for a three-week run.
As a theatre-maker and director she aims to champion under-represented voices to create bold, daring work which highlights the intricacies and challenges we face as people. Dana aims to abandon elitist forms of theatre and give a platform to people with great ideas who simply love theatre. Her approach as a Director is to work collaboratively across all areas of production. Dana works as a responsive director, combining exercises from Laban and Meisner and invites actors to explore and play by asking questions during the entire process.
