I have been acting for a long time and have had a 40 year professional and varied career as a jobbing actor .as such , female, untrained and working class I am passionate about raising those voices that are marginalised. I have always found directing and facilitating others performance deeply gratifying and in recent work that is where I’m trying to head.I have previously worked with mentally and physically handicapped adults in drama therapy. As a main earner mother and long term mental health sufferer my confidence has only now been high enough to advertise rather than Co produce own productions. I’ve recently directed a play at The Kings Head and about to be an associate on a larger scale tour. I like to hear womens voices and working class voices and disabled and marginalised voices. I have one foot in the old school and traditional practice and one very firmly striding with the un chartered and innovative. A passion for performance and using the arts to push empathy and ultimately challenge perceptions is at the root of all I do. I really want to learn as a director or associate director whilst bringing a wealth of life experience and a sharp eye and ear with me. I would love to get a chance to work alongside people I can learn from and further my experiences and credits with. I know that my work ethic is one that goes above and beyond. I appreciate all chances at this early point of a new career standing on the shoulders of an established one in furthering opportunity to use years of experience to enhance a production.
