Rob Hale

Director Actor Maker Writer

I am a London based theatre director, who works internationally.

Productions have included new writing, devised work, and site specific projects. Collaborations with Mike Alfreds, (founder of Shared Experience) have included productions at Hampstead Theatre and Drill Hall.

As artistic director of Aorta Theatre I have directed Serenading Louie (George Bernard Shaw theatre) If I Walk Through This Door Will I find Heaven? (a site specific performance for 176 gallery, London, co-directed with Juliet Prague) and a sell out production What We’re Up Against at The Old Red Lion Theatre - 7 short plays by American author Theresa Rebeck.

International work has included most recently a Hong Kong production of The Human Voice with Elipsis theatre and Stranger a production with Hanoi based Same Stuff Theatre which was chosen to be shown at World Stage Design 2013 in Cardiff. Other international collaborations with Tankestation, Denmark and projects with the David Glass Ensemble in Brazil and Vietnam.

I have taught and directed at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Drama Centre London, Central St Martins University of The Arts and the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, Australia.
