Mengqi He

Performer Playwright Calligrapher Actress Designer

Mengqi He is a bilingual Chinese performer and writer. She is part of the 2021 Royal Court Theatre Writer's group, and her work Good Citizens Don't Think, a work-in-progress reading, was performed at Pleasance as part of Fringe Future Festival in June 2021. She had been granted DYCP from Arts Council England and 503 Theatre bursary to develop her writing.

In 2020, Mengqi performed in Paper Daughter as part of New Stories: A Digital Short Play Festival with New Earth Theatre, directed by Jasmine Yeo. She was also selected as one of the artists in 'Oracles in Sepia' with Compass Presents, using Chinese Calligraphy and visual arts to tell stories set during the pandemic across the UK and China.
