Jordi M. Carter (He/Him)

Jordi M. Carter (b. 1999) is a Caribbean-British theatre director, creative producer, dramaturg, and multi-disciplinary artist from South London. He is passionate about stories that explore identity, self-discovery, and spirituality within Black and Global Majority cultural contexts. His practice explores the nuances of love, introspection, and the strength of community, with a strong focus on social and political consciousness.

Jordi is currently on the Board of Trustees at the Old Vic Theatre as Lambeth Baylis Trustee (2024/25).

He was awarded a Developing Your Creative Practice Grant (via Arts Council England) in November 2023 to spend a year exploring his craft as a Director, with a particular focus on anti-racist methods and theatre-making approaches from the Black Diaspora and Global South.

Also awarded a Grand Plan Fund Grant in Summer 2024, Jordi is now embarking on his new playwriting practice, with support to bolster the development of his debut play.
