Christian Hey
Designer
Recently graduated from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, I am a transgender performance designer, visual director, & researcher.
As a performance designer, whilst practically minded, I adopt an interdisciplinary approach and am particularly drawn to immersive performance. My practical skills include hand drawing, Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD drafting, and scale model-making.
My practice is deeply audience-focused. The scenographic environment impacts a work’s potential to move, inspire, and effect change. I want to create performance that breaks free from conventional visual principals and outdated rules of engagement across live performance, but especially within classical music and opera.
