Christine Mears

Director

Hello!

I'm Christine (she/her) and I create contemporary theatre which is imaginative, theatrical and collaborative. I see theatre as a platform for activism, discussion and self-reflection. I have a love for stories and what they can teach us about ourselves and the world. My work often surrounds and explores feminism and political and social issues with the aim to provoke audience members to see the world differently and to arouse self-reflection.
As a director I work primarily with scripted plays but I have extensive training in devising from training in contemporary theatre making on the BA (Hons) European Theatre Arts degree at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance.

In 2017 I was awarded The Jacqueline Nichols Award for Excellence in Directing.
