Lucie Dawkins

Director Digital Producer

I work as an assistant director and dramaturg for Cheek by Jowl, and am co-Artistic Director of SCRUM. I'm currently working with the National Theatre of Finland and Theatre For A New Audience in NYC. Alongside directing, I translate and adapt Greek tragedies. I also work with the Barbican and Guildhall School, teaching Shakespeare for their open course programme. I am passionate about Shakespeare: I'm working with director Declan Donnellan on writing a new book on directing and acting his plays.

As well as classic plays, I love making highly cross-disciplinary and collaborative work. I've worked in many formats, from site specific productions to performance installations in galleries, new productions with young writers and audio plays.

Beyond the theatre, I work as a digital producer and podcast host for museums, on programmes focussing on decolonisation and mental health initiatives. I have previously worked as a curator in museums, creating late-night performance festivals designed to welcome young people into the collections.
