Freyja Winterson

I'm a director and practitioner making new scripted and devised work across the UK. I like making work that is entertaining and debate-worthy, I have worked extensively creating community based and large-scale work, often in non-traditional performance places.

I am interested in making theatre in places where there is not much engagement with arts provision or where the cultural offer doesn't manage to reach people who aren't already interested or experienced in being an audience member and/or participant.

COMMUNITY, ENGAGEMENT & EDUCATION
I am currently the Youth Theatre Programme Director for the Orange Tree Theatre, and worked as a director for the Grosvenor Park Young Company between 2014-17. I have convened the Directing in the Community Module for St Mary's Univeristy and Orange Tree Theatre MA in directing. I facilitate for the Old Vic, Tender, Shakespeare Schools Festival, Artis and was Lead Artist for the Community Launch of Storyhouse.
