Robert Macfarlane

After completing my BA I started a production company, focusing my attention on directing narrative music videos and corporate film.

I then moved to Trinidad and Tobago and worked in a variety of roles on feature films, commercials and corporate films such as DOP, Editor and DIT for global and national companies such as Nestle, Flow, Angostura and NH International.

After returning to the UK, I worked as a Creative Director at a boutique production house where I produced and directed over 40 high end corporate and educational films.

In 2020 I started a YouTube Channel focused on sharing my experience and knowledge of directing and storytelling to new directors and filmmakers around the world. This has also started to build a loyal fan base for my future films.

I am working with two acclaimed writers on my first feature film, first is Shutters Down, a contained thriller reflecting post-Brexit Britain. Second,
HalfCent, a period drama based, exploring the nature of colonialism through the independence of Suriname.

I am also looking to starting work on my first theatre production exploring childhood trauma after losing a parent.
