Malachy Orozco - he/him
I'm an interdisciplinary technician, designer & performer, and I'm now looking for opportunities to direct short works of up to 20 minutes in length.
Culturally, I'm American - with an Irish passport. I've lived in the UK since 2010.
My day job is working at a drama conservatoire where I have contact with a wide variety of individuals of varying skill levels at various points in their production processes. My approach is supportive, inquisitive, practical, and friendly, and seeks to nurture the core ideas of a work rather than influence those ideas.
At this very moment, I'm wide open to working on live performance that takes place in front of other human beings and not on a screen.
I'm really very interested in all kinds of work, and my CV will bear that out. Proscenium presentations, live art, video, film, podcast, comedy, dance theatre, gallery performances, immersive work - I've really tried to get involved and pick up ideas from what's on offer here in the UK.
The last show I was really blown away by was Robert LePage's 'The Seven Streams of the River Ota'. The last thing I bought tickets to was Ryoji Ikeda.
